I also like the Pecan Sour Cream Coffee Cake from Cook's Country (tighter crumb, lovely toasted nut flavor throughout the cake, but the glaze atop was boring compared to the recipe you posted, so next time I'm going to top it with my favorite King Arthur Flour Streusel). Cook's Country's coffee cake muffins are great too! But this is probably the most traditional coffee cake of the three, and I LOVED it!Jesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03149503511371513159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7103111208509301475.post-1098175314956707702015-07-16T09:30:51.866-07:002015-07-16T09:30:51.866-07:00I made this and while the flavor was good the salt...I made this and while the flavor was good the saltiness was way over the top. With pudding that needs to be cooked, the cooking process is what helps it become thick. With instant, it has agents in the pudding that help it thicken by just adding liquid. I think the instructions need to be clearer (after I had issues, I researched other similar recipes & found that the marshmallows should actually melt, you should use boiling (not hot) water, and you should let it firm up itself before spooning it onto the first jello mixture). The addition of miracle whip was also very strange, and we didn't like the end taste. I had issues with the layers not setting & the final taste was off. I'm sorry, but I would not recommend this recipe to anyone!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7103111208509301475.post-25948825790115164752013-12-05T13:06:33.871-08:002013-12-05T13:06:33.871-08:00The cake looks great! Thank you so much for sharing.

I found you via pinterest and haven't searched your site for other recipes yet, but wanted to let you know that I found this one to be non-logical in its directions. I normally read through recipes before hand but in my hurry tonight, I did not do that and was frustrated to see the boiling of water/asparagus after mixing things in a bowl. I would have rather been told to boil the water first. Just a minor piece of feedback to help the writing be more logical and helpul.

Thank you again for sharing, it was enjoyed by everyone! Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
